The 2008 Meeting of the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition was held at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Indianapolis Indianapolis, Indiana. 

The meeting and workshop was hosted by the Indiana Department of Transportation
March 31-April 2, 2008.

The Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition (MVFC) held its 2008 meeting March 31-April 2nd in Indianapolis. The region includes ten states (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin) that share key interstate corridors, rail infrastructure, and inland and Great Lakes waterways.

Upper Midwest Traveler Information Data Sharing Summit

A summit of adjacent state 511 or traveler information representatives was held to discuss policy and technical issues related to sharing data across borders The objectives of this summit included learning about other states’ practices, formulating strategies for additional data sharing across borders, and establishment of a regional traveler information working group. Regional WIM Discussions

Minnesota DOT took the lead on scheduling discussions on collaborations across the region regarding Virtual Weigh Stations by converting Weigh-in-motion scales to dual use. Indiana stakeholders provided first hand review of experiences to date with VWS's and near term plans for deployment. The detailed agenda is posted here. A final summary will be available soon.
